INSPIRE Pilot Training Courses: Overview and Results

During April and May 2026, the INSPIRE partnership delivered three pilot training courses in Greece, Finland and Spain to test the project's new modular training programme for hydrogen pipeline welding inspection.

The pilots involved 97 professionals from welding inspection, non-destructive testing, quality assurance and related industrial fields. Participants tested the two INSPIRE Competence Units through theoretical sessions, technical case studies and Augmented Reality-supported exercises.

Feedback confirmed the relevance and practical value of the training content and digital resources. Overall, 81 participants — 83.5% — successfully completed both Competence Units.

The pilot results will support the final improvement of the training materials and their future integration into vocational and professional training programmes across Europe.
